How The Kitchen & Bath Studio Works With Clients

Working with The Kitchen & Bath Studio to remodel your kitchen or bathroom involves our thorough 3ds Remodeling - discover, design,        deliver and satisfy.

Discover

The discovery process is the all important first phase of your remodel. Discovery typically involves a home consultation, and the “discovery” works two ways:

  • Working together, we discover what your vision, needs and priorities are and what it is you want to achieve from your project.
  • You discover whether our skill set and capabilities match your needs and project.

Part of the discovery phase involves a detailed and well articulated    Needs Analysis.

This involves asking many questions, and allows us to discover what you want, why you want it and what your priorities are.  The more specific and detailed the answers are (don’t worry, we will help you with this) the better we are able to develop a design and plan that you’ll love.

We offer a Free Home Consultation with our designer who will be able to examine the current space and get a feel for the project (this is impossible to acheive from our showroom).

We may even develop a concept or two with you (get ready to play an active part in this) to get a feel for the process and your style.

Thanks for your help in laying out the new kitchen in my “fix & flip”. It was helpful to see your various drawings from different angles in choosing the cabinets that I thought would appeal to the broadest spectrum of potential buyers. I think the kitchen looks great. The house is now under contract—to the first people to walk in and see it.

Design

Once we move through our discovery phase, then we start the design process. We verify the results with you and determine if you would like to work with The Kitchen & Bath Studio.  Then we start your personalized design process.

Design is a collaborative process that helps clarify what you like and don’t like in terms of space planning, products and other aspects of design.

The Design phase involves:

  • Visiting showrooms to spark ideas and show our clients real life products and design elements they may be interested in. Some of these showrooms aren’t necessarily available to the general public.
  • Making use of color and materials samples that show exactly how something will look in your home.   May use materials in a unique way to blend the various colors or textures so that the whole room works well together and looks great – and not like everyone else’s
  • Computer aided rendering tools and drawings that can help you visualize the "intangible" design we’re creating.  We show and explain, in as much detail as possible, exactly how something will look in your home. We also discuss the pros and cons of the various options.

  • Throughout the design phase we perform Budget Reviews to make sure we are within the established budget

No decision or order will be made without your explicit approval.  This keeps you in total control and avoids surprises. Once you've made your final selections and the design is finalized –it’s time for us to deliver!

Deliver

The delivery process is either getting the product to your door if you’ve arranged for your own installation, or getting it installed, constructed and completely finished off for you. We offer Turn Key project management as well.

Quality Control measures we take during the delivery process:

A survey that addresses all of the typical issues involved in the construction process. We ask things such as:

  • Technical and Fit Review - this is a critical check performed by a project coordinator that makes sure your plan and all of its elements (cabinets, counters, appliance, etc) will fit together, and function correctly and as planned.
  • A Pre-Installation survey that addresses all of the typical issues involved in theconstruction process. We ask things such as:
    • Which bathrooms can tradesman use, or do we need to rent a port-a-john?
    • Which doors or entranceways can workers use?
    • What time can workers come, and when do they need to be out?
    • Do you have pets?

Each question is designed to allow us to fit within your lifestyle and schedule to minimize interruptions and inconvenience. (click here to see our initial Kitchen Needs Analysis and/or click here to see our initial Bathroom Needs Analysis).

A face-to-face introduction (when possible) of our subcontractors or installers before they come to work at your home.

We don't want our clients having “strangers” knocking at their door at 7 in the morning!

Advance notification of how the work we’ll be doing will affect your life.

We’ll inform you well ahead of time if the electricity in the kitchen will be out for 3 days, and we’ll even help you set up a microwave in the living room if you like!

A single point of contact—your designer!

This means if you have any questions about any aspect of the delivery process, there’s only one person you’ll ever need to call.  A single point of contact makes the delivery process very convenient for our clients.  However, you are welcome to the project coordinator or the owner as well.

After the initial consultation with Jan, I felt she understood my desires for the changes I wanted in our 10 year old kitchen. She listened to me and the ideas she had were excellent from rearranging pieces of furniture to paint ideas. She is easy to work with and has a positive attitude.

“Sign off” throughout the delivery process to make sure we understand exactly what it is you expect.

Signing off doesn’t mean you can’t ever change your mind about something, it simply ensures you know exactly what we’re doing, when we’re doing it and what it will involve.

A project management team that double checks every order we place.

This team makes sure what we’re ordering "makes sense," that nothing’s been omitted or overlooked, and that we’re ordering the right colors, styles and materials. Our project coordinator also arranges delivery schedules so products and materials are delivered at exactly the right time for installation. This helps us maintain the schedule.
